GIF PROJECT

The GIF exploration was my favourite exploration amongst them all and I am really proud of the final piece. The theme for the final piece was inspired from the expression, "you sound like a broken record" with a literal visual of a record breaking while spinning, and the words, "broken record" blurring out the emphasize on the expression. The highlights were that it was a very fun and it allowed me to be more creative and think critically on how to make a GIF look like it goes on without realizing its the end of a clip.

PERFORMANCE PROJECT

The performance/installation piece was also a very creatively inspiring assignment. The difference, a highlight and also a challenge was definitely the group work. I think that even though the challenges were mostly due to scheduling conflicts and time limits, my group and I were able to create a work we all are really proud of. It was inspiring to see this piece come to life with so much hard work, and so much discussion and working through little obstacles. The concept was straight forward, and we were all extremely organized and created goals and deadlines. We all truly inspired each other and the performance was amazing to say the least.

SOUND PROJECT

The sound project was a more challenging assignment. My process is usually always basing my
inspiration and motivation on my current mood. I always try to emphasize my feelings because it is something I now very well and reflect it into my work. The final sound art is kind of creepy, and mysterious. My feelings of frustrating and fear came through in the sound. It was more difficult to edit the sound. I ended up using Garageband, and it was a lot more difficult than I thought. However, after I took some more time to figure it out, it was easy to navigate, and easier to edit. The highlights were absolutely hearing the final result, especially with headphones.

VIDEO COLLAGE PROJECT

Out of all the projects done this semester, the video collage was the hardest one to achieve in my opinion. My concept was a little harder to conceptualize while editing. I really struggled a lot of editing, but I ended up looking on tutorials on how to use iMovie and really figured it out to get the result I wanted. The idea of the collage was daily life. As a diabetic, I have to take medication on a daily basis to control my blood sugar. The first screen, being the metaphorical "hunger" for medication, as my body needs it to survive. The second being the swishing of the water bottle. The third, the literal medications and the fourth, the safety clicking of he bottle. This idea was complex to film, and even more so while editing, but it really came out great.
